SIA Door Supervisor Level 2 Course

Our Door Supervisor Level 2 Course is a seven-day all-in-one training package that gives you everything you need to enter the security industry and apply for your SIA Door Supervisor licence.

SIA Door Supervisor Level 2 Course | Including EFAW & Fire Marshal Level 2

Designed for individuals starting their career in security, the course combines the Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry with Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Level 3 and a Fire Marshal Level 2 qualification, all delivered in a single, structured programme at our training centre in North Wales.

Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, anyone working as a door supervisor on licensed premises is required to hold a valid SIA licence. That licence can only be applied for once the correct licence-linked qualification has been completed, and a first aid qualification must be held before beginning the door supervisor training itself. Our package is built around exactly those requirements, so you leave with every qualification needed to apply for your licence and start work.

Delivered by experienced instructors with genuine operational backgrounds, the course combines classroom learning, scenario-based practical sessions, and physical intervention training to ensure every delegate is genuinely prepared for the realities of working in security.

Who Should Attend the Door Supervisor Level 2 Course

This course is for anyone who wants to enter the security industry and work legally as a door supervisor. It is suitable for:

  • Individuals applying for their SIA Door Supervisor licence for the first time

  • Career changers looking to move into the security and events sector

  • Anyone already working in hospitality or events who wants to formalise their role

  • Ex-military and emergency services personnel transitioning to civilian security work

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have the legal right to work in the UK, and be able to communicate effectively in English. The SIA carries out a criminal record check on all licence applicants, having a criminal record does not automatically disqualify you, but certain convictions may affect the outcome of your application. If you have concerns about eligibility, contact us before booking and we can advise.

Why the Door Supervisor Licence Allows More Than Just Door Work

A Door Supervisor licence is more versatile than a standard Security Guard licence, it allows you to work both as a security officer and as a door supervisor at venues where alcohol is served. A Security Guard licence alone cannot be used for door supervision roles. Choosing the Door Supervisor pathway from the outset gives you significantly more employment flexibility across the security industry.

Your SIA Door Supervisor Qualification

On successfully completing the course, you will receive your Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry, along with your EFAW Level 3 and Fire Marshal Level 2 certificates. You can then apply directly to the SIA for your Door Supervisor licence.

The SIA Door Supervisor licence is valid for three years, after which it must be renewed before it expires. From April 2025, a Refresher qualification is required for existing SIA licensed Door Supervisors applying to renew their licence. R24/7 also offer a Door Supervisor Refresher Course for licence renewals, speak to our team for details.
